Strathmashie provides an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful yet relatively undiscovered area of the Highlands and its central location enables exploration further afield; from Ben Nevis and Loch Ness to the West, to The Cairngorms with it’s amazing Funicular railway in the East. Enjoy the pleasure of returning to a comfortable cottage with an open fire to re–live the day’s adventures.
We are 1 mile from the new Wolftrax Mountain Biking trails, and there are golf courses, many fine walks plus pony trekking nearby. Winter brings the added attraction of skiing and snow boarding at either the Nevis or Cairngorm ranges.
Fishing is available locally on many rivers and lochs, with numerous water sports available at Lochs Insh and Morlich. Creag Meagaidh Nature Reserve, Insh Marshes, the famous Highland Wildlife Park, Boat of Garten Osprey Centre, potteries, historic castles, museums, and whisky trails around some of the most famous highland distilleries are all a short drive away.
The summer months also bring the bonus of the highland games and Aviemore offers swimming pools, a steam railway and children’s activity centres.
